We also understand the complex back-end environment that's critical to implementing successful electronic delivery systems and we're going to help you leverage investment in existing IT infrastructure as well as a common development investment across multiple delivery channels. MECA is working with Sun Microsystems to promote the development of interactive financial software and services in Sun's Java programming language. Java lends itself to programs, or abbreviated programs called applets, that can be transmitted to machines or devices of any size. The Java capability eliminates the need to define the end product allowing components to be delivered over time. Java-SunConnect architecture is flexible because it is "open and cross-platform" unlike Microsoft's Internet Finance Server which limits users to Windows operating systems.
