About Meca MECA Software was founded in 1982 and owned by H&R Block from 1993 to 1995, when it was purchased by Bank of America Corporation and NationsBank Corporation. In 1995, US Bank, Fleet Financial Group and Royal Bank of Canada joined Bank of America and NationsBank as co-owners. In 1996, MECA added a sixth owner, New England Financial, an insurance and investment company now a part of MetLife. In July 1997, MECA added a seventh owner, CitiBank. MECA gained its reputation as a leader by providing branded PC Banking solutions to major financial institutions in North America. Among its owner and client financial institutions, MECA's brandable PC Banking product, Managing Your Money®, is visible to half the retail banking population or 60 million households in North America.
